Hubble telescope continued
The Hubble telescope is popular all over the
world for its fantastic images of
our
universe. The Hubble telescope has captured some amazing
images of earth from out their in space. In 1977 congress
voted to fund the construction of the
Hubble.
The Hubble telescope was completed in the year of 1985. The
Hubble was supposed to be launched the year after its
completion but was delayed due to the launch of the Space
Shuttle challenge disaster.
The Hubble Telescope was finally launched on the
25th of April 1990, nearly five years after
its completion. The launch of this telescope really sped
humanity to one of its greatest ever advances in the
field of science and technology.
The giant telescope sent
back pictures of the space. These pictures however were
out of focus. There were apparently few flaws in the
mirror. One of the major flaws in the mirror was that one
edge was a bit too flat; it was 1/50th of the width of a
human hair.
In December 1993 this was corrected by the Space
Shuttle Endeavour, the Space Shuttle Endeavour added a
camera to it to correct the problems with the
mirror.
In February 1997, it underwent a few more changes, the
astronauts added new blankets to keep the Hubble warm. The
Hubble telescope was built with a vision or mission in
mind.
The most common question that all of mankind
asks Is, where did the universe come from? The Hubble
telescope aims at answering questions like the one
mentioned earlier. Its mission is to explore our solar
system.
And to measure the age and size of the universe
we live in. the Hubble’s telescope charts the whole
evolution of our universe and traces out our cosmic
roots. It even tries to unveil the mysteries of the
stars, planets, galaxies and life
itself.
The Hubble is a telescope that orbits our earth
and blocks the light from our planet and hence it gains a
view of the universe and is able to send us pictures that
are far better than the ones we receive from telescopes
that are grounded here.
The Hubble remains one of the most successful
creations of NASA. Thanks to the Hubble telescope we have
millions of clear images of the earth from space. It has
helped scientist discover the approximate age of this
universe, and the existence of dark energy and even the
identity of quasars.
It has helped unveil many secrets and mysteries
of astronomy.
